Meet Trouble—a beautiful seven-year-old brindle-and-white bully mix whose soulful eyes, gentle personality and affectionate nature make her nearly impossible to resist. The only trouble her future family may have is wondering how they ever lived without her!

Despite her name, Trouble is anything but troublesome. She is a sweet, devoted companion who loves spending time with people, receiving belly rubs, giving kisses and curling up beside someone who makes her feel safe. 

Trouble came to the Smithtown Animal Shelter after her beloved owner moved into assisted living and was no longer able to care for her. In what must have felt like an instant, she lost her home, her familiar surroundings and the person she had always known. Still, she has never allowed that heartbreak to diminish her loving spirit.

The name Trouble is the name she arrived with, and the shelter has chosen to keep it for a meaningful reason. When a dog has lost everything she has ever known, sometimes her name is the only familiar thing she has left. It is a small connection to the life she once knew and a source of comfort during an overwhelming transition.

Perhaps one very lucky family will soon give Trouble the world, and with a new home and fresh beginning, she may one day happily answer to a new name.

Trouble would love to become someone’s loyal sidekick. Although she has lived with other dogs, she would prefer to be the only pet in her new home, where she can enjoy all the attention. She would also do best with older children who will appreciate her gentle nature.

Healthy and overflowing with affection, Trouble is waiting for someone to recognize the extraordinary companion she is. She deserves a permanent home, a loving family and the chance to feel that she belongs again.
